As an Development Intern, you will work directly with MAC’s executive team and board members to raise support for key initiatives.

Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Development, Grants, and Fundraising Intern to support the organization’s fundraising efforts. This part-time, paid internship is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit development, grant writing, and fundraising. Working closely with the CEO, you will help advance MAC’s mission of empowering African and African American communities through financial growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grant Research & Writing: Identify potential funding sources, including grants, foundations, and corporate partnerships. Assist with drafting and submitting grant proposals.
- Donor Relations: Support efforts to cultivate and maintain relationships with donors and sponsors through communication, outreach, and follow-ups.
- Fundraising Campaigns: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events and campaigns, including tracking progress and outcomes.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities, donor contributions, and grant applications in the organization’s database.
- Report Generation: Assist in preparing reports and presentations for funders, sponsors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability in fundraising activities.
- Marketing & Communications: Collaborate on promotional materials, social media posts, and newsletters related to fundraising initiatives and donor outreach.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a college program in Nonprofit Management, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear and compelling grant proposals and fundraising messages.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Grantstation, Canva, and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X).
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A passion for nonprofit work and a strong interest in African and African American communities.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
